“Are you actively taking steps to care for your health, mind, body, and soul today?”
FocusJax readers, leaders, followers, dreamers, and creators, that’s the question for you to ponder. Yes, I know life’s proposals, situations, and predicaments that drive emotions, whether for living or earning potential, compel you and me to take action beyond the unimaginable to the imaginable.
Today, I wrote this a week after my mother passed at 76, realizing she might have lived longer if she had followed simple health principles like quitting smoking and drinking more water.
She could have done things that the health experts say we ought to do. Today, though not an expert, I am advocating a lifestyle change for everyone because positive change is possible and beneficial.
To help you make the transition you want, need, or deserve, support groups are available in every community or online, making it easier to stay motivated and connected with others on the same journey.
Now that I have shared, covered, and introduced a need-to-know thought, let me return to my mother’s plight, as you may encounter a similar situation in your community. My mother smoked cigarettes her entire life and drank more soft drinks or colas than she did the most potent, life-saving, sustainable, and energy-giving drink on the planet, WATER.
“Follow Your Physician’s Advice or Not, It’s a Choice”
Based on what my siblings and I learned from my mother’s physicians, my mother’s lungs had had enough of the 50-plus years of abuse from those smoke javelins. Those smoke javelins pierced holes in her lungs, causing them to function like an old factory smokestack in one of America’s midwestern cities on the brink of collapse.
She pushed toxic carbonized air throughout her body, leaving a residue that eventually destroyed her lungs and the masterful temple that the universal matter provided. The impact shortened her life based on her choices.
In short, if you smoke, dump the cigarettes fast. Do what you can to stop a surefire and horrible way to end your life. We tried to stop Mother, but we failed. As I told her, you must love the cigarettes more than you love yourself or us.
That statement caused her pain, but not enough to change her behavior or to take a different action. She kept smoking as if nothing mattered. Her life was altered by the decision based on what she gained from the experience of smoking.
Mother also drank lots of sodas. The nub here is essential for you. It would be best if you assessed the chemical composition of the stuff you drink and fill your temple with every day. Those sodas or beverages eventually strongly impacted her kidney failure.
And if you do drink sodas, I suggest changing this habit and increasing your water intake, the essential substance for your body’s survival and optimal functioning.

Yes, your body is a temple, given to you by the universal Creator, regardless of your religion, so that you may live a fruitful and joyous life. Here is my best recommendation to cola drinkers, if that happens to be you.
“Want a Healthier Family, Friends, and Associates?”
For a healthier and longer life, here are two easy suggestions that will transform your life the moment you choose to follow this new path. By the way, let me say, I am no health expert, nor do I pretend to be one. Yet the views researchers present make my comments worth your consideration.
1. Drink more water daily. The health standards recommend drinking a quart or one liter of this powerful, lifesaving substance daily. Colas are not a healthy choice, no matter your desire.
2. Don’t Smoke. If you smoke today, get help to STOP smoking. Here are some links to help you transition to a proposal for your living situation or your future earning potential. Here are a few sources to help you break the habit.

I’ll end this section with a quote that challenges my headline.
Yeah, I like positive messages like this one from Amelia Earhart, “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its reward”.
Now is the time to make a difference in your life before you have regrets. You should also be able to offer insight to your family, friends, associates, or colleagues. Remember, Booker T. Washington’s quote as you plot your next move-“Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”
Hence, you might be the one who reaches that person and helps them cast off the life expectancy ghost, making the shift necessary to prolong their good life.
